Our Mission

Young people deserve a better social experience

Spotlite is building a different kind of social community: a place where young people can create, connect and share - without ads, engagement-driven feeds, or a business model built around keeping them online for longer.

We believe young people deserve a social experience that that does not treat their time and attention as something to compete for.

Why we are building Spotlite

Many online platforms are built to keep people watching, clicking and coming back for more. There is always another recommendation, another notification and another reason to stay a little longer.

We believe young people deserve more from the places where they spend time online.

Spotlite is not about taking away the things they enjoy about being connected. It is about giving them more choice, less pressure and a social community built with greater care.

Trust is part of the product

Trust and safety were not added after Spotlite was built. They have shaped the platform from the beginning.

From age assurance and moderation to privacy and product decisions, responsibility is considered throughout the experience. Technology helps us identify potential risks, while trained people remain accountable for decisions that require human judgement.

We collect only the personal data we need, and we do not sell personal data to advertisers.

Built in the Nordics

Spotlite is developed by a Nordic team with more than a decade of experience in child safety, moderation and digital communities.

We combine practical experience with a belief that technology used by young people should be designed with greater care, transparency and accountability.

The Spotlite Trust Manifesto

Ten principles guide how we approach safety, privacy, verification and moderation.
